In honor of Matha Burk and the National Council of Women's Organizations (NCWO) attempt to pressure Augusta National Golf Club (home of The Masters) into accepting women into their membership, I felt it was high time that Augusta ALSO accepted non-wealthy members, too.
So, I deciced to write a letter to William "Hootie" Johnson just like Martha Burk did. Hopefully Hootie writes me back within a few weeks.

Dear Mr. Johnson:
Hey, Hootie! How are the Blowfish? Just kidding!
I represent a group of non-wealthy golf enthusiasts nationwide. Our members are very concerned that the nation's premier golf event, The Masters, is hosted by a club that discriminates against people of average means by excluding them from membership. While we understand that there is no written policy barring us, Augusta National's record speaks for itself. As you know, no person of average income has been invited to join since the club was formed in 1932.
We know that Augusta National and the sponsors of the Masters do not want to be viewed as entities that tolerate discrimination against any group. We urge you to review your policies and practices in this regard, and open your membership to us now, so that this is not an issue when the tournament is staged later this year.
I will be pleased to discuss this matter with you personally or by telephone. I will contact you in the next few weeks.
If you do not feel that your club can accommodate us at this time, we may be willing to postpone our boycott for a pair of tickets to this year's event. Or maybe even a hat or t-shirt (XL, please) from the gift shop.
We appreciate your time and consideration and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Todd Breer
PS. Who do you like this year? I like Vijay.
