Each week Alan Boehm looks at the fantasy games and predicts who will win and who will get their asses handed to them.

    Alan's current record is 35-19.

    Week 6

  • Razors (4-0) at Team Tools (0-4)

Well, when I first saw that Philly has a bye this week...and the Razors would have to start either Brad Johnson or Matt Hasselbeck, I was leaning toward the big upset. Then I took a look at the Tool roster. Wow. You talk about making a bad team worse...that's exactly what Half did when he gave up on Culpepper. Tony Gonzalez is the only decent player on this team. With minimal production from one of the Razor backup QB's this week, they should be able to handle the Tools. I look for the Giants/Rams game to be high scoring, so count on at least 3 TDs from the Holt/Bruce combo. Assuming Curtis Martin continues to shred defenses...the Razors will sneak by. Thankfully for them, they get to play the Tools while their leader has a bye.

    Al's Prediction: Razors 41, Tools 33
Actual Outcome: Razors 43, Tools 33

  • JagBags (0-3-1) at Venis Envy (1-3)

Well, Venis Envy definitely has too many eggs in one basket....too many Raiders! You like that Nathan? Anyway, the Raiders get to go up against another cupcake defense in the Colts. Gannon/Garner/Rice should be able to put together some respectable numbers. Another win for Venis Envy? Not this week. Culpepper, in his second week as a Jag, gets to toss into the Detroit defense--at home! Now, Squires and I have banned each other from betting on Minnesota--but I really think this may be the week that they explode on offense. If they are actually able to score (which still remains to be seen)--you know they're going to try and pour it on, in hopes to regain some confidence. Faulk and Alstott should put up good numbers again this week...and that should be all that's needed (that's a good thing for the JagBags--cause they don't have much else to offer).

    Al's Prediction: JagBags 48, Venis Envy 42
Actual Outcome: JagBags 58, Venis Envy 34

  • Pounders (3-1) at Fighting Ducks (3-1)

Let us first focus on some of the Pounders' finer points....Jeff Wilkins gets a lot of extra points. Ernie Conwell will score a TD in about 1/2 of his games. Trent Green used to backup one of the best QB's to ever play the game...I'm sure he learned a lot. Money Smith was sought after by many fantasy owners (for no apparent reason). Then there's Michael Bennett and Randy Moss. They....well....they play for Minnesota. Fuck this. Are you kidding me?!?!? How is this Pounder team 3-1? They stink! The Fighting Ducks are still soaring high above the rest of the league. The only thing that will make this game closer than it otherwise would be is the fact that Brett Favre has another tough D, the Ravens, to throw against. Favre being held in check by the Bucs last week held the Fighting Ducks to a meager 65 points...so I wouldn't expect them to put up record numbers--but do they have enough ammo to beat the Pounders? Please.

    Al's Prediction: Ducks 58, Pounders 39
Actual Outcome: Ducks 65, Pounders 41

  • Tugnutts (2-2) at Portland Chiefs (2-2)

Well, the Tuggers get Manning back this week. Thank God for them. Without Manning this team is pretty dismal. Well, really it's just the running backs that are big terds. Everyone else is okay...but with terd ball running backs...this team is being held back. Unless Ver picked up a FA RB this week, he's going to have to start either Dunn, Henry, or Mack (hurt, bye, bye) to go along with James Stewart who is just plain terrible. Yuck! Then you factor in the fact that Jimmy Smith has a bye, and he might actually have to start Reggie Wayne at WR. Of course....you look at Newton's team...and all you see is more trash. I think he's starting Charlie Batch this week. I don't know about this game. When you expect both teams to score in the twenties...it's hard to pick a winner. I guess I might as well pick an upset. That's right! The worst team in the damn league, the Portland Chiefs, will upset the Tugnutts this week. Manning will be held in check by the tough Oakland D, and the rest of his team will be held in check cause they either have a bye or just plain suck....or they don't even play. The Chiefs win this game on a pair of TD's each from Ricky Williams and Tim Brown!

    Al's Prediction: Chiefs 35, Tugnutts 28
Actual Outcome: Tugnutts 70, Chiefs 60

  • Goons (1-2-1) at Bailey's Bombers (0-4)

The Goons' Garcia will be throwing TD's to Owens of the Bombers. Give Garcia the one TD edge for the TD scramble he'll get. That leaves Tomlinson vs. Griese. Everyone else on these two teams is trash (especially with the overrated Ahman playing the Ravens). Personally, I'm a Griese man. That guy can put up some astronomical numbers when he's on. This game should be a close one, but give the edge to the Bombers.

    Al's Prediction: Bombers 43, Goons 40
Actual Outcome: Goons 82, Bombers 76

  • Steelers (4-0) at R.P. All-Stars (3-1)

Finally! Some decent teams to analyze. Really, though, the only thing decent the Steelers have is EdVerrin, Warner, and Jose Cortez. Those 3 players, though, are going to score more than most fantasy teams in this league. Let me just come right out and tell you what the difference in this game is going to be. Jay Fiedler. He gets to start against a horrendous Jets defense for the Dolphins this week. The only real question is....Will Breer finally put Aaron Brooks on the bench where he belongs? He's going to get solid numbers this week from the rest of his position players. He's going to need a big game from his QB, though, to get past the Steelers. So I've got two predictions for this game....one with Fiedler in the lineup, one without.

    Al's Prediction: WITH Fiedler: All-Stars 58, Steelers 52
    WITHOUT Fiedler: Steelers 52, All-Stars 46
    Actual Outcome: All-Stars 50, Steelers 46
